Development & Technical Advisor, Transportation & Municipalities

Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.– H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Starting his right-of-way career in 1989, Scott truly has a passion for the land acquisition industry, with a specific focus on Transportation and Municipalities. After graduating from the Olds College Land Agent Program, Scott landed his first job with Alberta Transportation and never looked back.

Scott’s path through the industry lead him in several directions, but always with the key focus, including when he started and ran his own business from March 2006 through to July 2016, when he joined forces with the Evolve team and expanded our Transportation and Municipalities division, better serving many key clients with an experienced and specialized team.

With a successful track record of working with municipal governments, Scott brings a unique understanding of public to the private sector, helping our clients address multiple perspectives, ensuring that all their needs are being met on a high-level basis. His primary goal with Evolve is to ensure that projects are executed with a high rate of efficiency and success, while continuing to develop and diversify the division to further serve our clients.

Scott has received his SR/WA (Senior Right-of-Way Agent) Designation from the IRWA (International Right of Way Association) and is a licensed Alberta Land Agent. To support the project management aspect of client projects, Scott received his Management Development Program (MDP) Certificate from the University of Alberta School of Business

Transportation & Municipalities

Action is the foundational key to all success.– Pablo Picasso

In more than 10 years in the surface land industry, Tyler has been accountable for stakeholder engagement and project coordination in various industry divisions, but has chosen to focus in midstream. Here, he continually demonstrates a strong ability to identify concerns from landowners, actively working to mitigate these concerns and come to mutually beneficial resolutions for all parties. Tyler has experience negotiating in all aspects of oil and gas acquisition including pipeline right-of-way, rental reviews, surface leases, lease amendments, multi-well pads, rental reviews and temporary workspace agreements. Complementing this is Tyler’s work on utility infrastructure developments in Alberta, as well as his experience in highly controversial negotiations, with potentially non-routine applications.

Of note in Tyler’s time with us is his accountability for the acquisition of approximately 350 kms of pipe from Sundre to the US border. A great feat as this required addressing various sensitivities, including HDDs under significant rivers, pipe integrity work in the Cochrane area (an area known for its sensitive landowners) and organic farming operations.

As a Project Manager for the Transmission and Power Division, Jason has assisted in building this division from the ground up. From initially focusing on general maintenance projects to now supporting capital and large-scale maintenance projects, he has played a large role with increasing the clients this division supports.

One interesting factoid that most of our clients don’t know about Jason? He enjoys DJing!

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.– Wayne Gretzky
